I See You.
I See You.
There are passages in Scripture that feel like an anchor when the storms of life come crashing in. For me, Luke 12:4–7 has been one of those anchors, especially throughout my cancer journey:
“I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him! Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (ESV)
These words from Jesus remind me that while fear is real, it doesn’t have to have the final say. The One who made me—and knows me better than I know myself—also values me more than I can comprehend.
Charles Spurgeon wrote, “The Lord thinks upon us. The Lord remembers us. The Lord has regard to us. We may be forgotten by our friends, but God will never forget us.” That truth hits me deeply. God notices sparrows that the world doesn’t even think twice about. And if He watches over them, how much more does He watch over us, His beloved children?
There have been nights when fear kept me wide awake—fear of test results, fear of what tomorrow might hold. But even in those moments, this passage reminded me: not one tear or prayer slips past His attention. He sees. He knows. He cares.
J.I. Packer said it so beautifully: “You are graven on the palms of Christ’s hands. You are never forgotten. No moment of your life is hidden from His view.” That’s the kind of love and attention our Father gives to us.
Friend, maybe you’re carrying something heavy right now—illness, loss, fear, or even just a quiet ache you don’t share with anyone else. Please know this: you are not forgotten. You are seen. I see you. BUT, more importantly, our Loving Heavenly Father sees you and you are of great worth to the He who has created you.
I also want you to know that you don’t have to walk through your valley alone. So many people have walked with me in my hardest days, and I would be honored to do the same for you. You are loved. You are valued. And you matter—more than many sparrows.
“When Jesus is my portion; my constant friends is He, His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He’s watching me.”
YOU ARE LOVED,
